Monika Sosnowska Brings Urban Art to Aspen
A twisted staircase, bent window frames and a crushed I beam are three structural pieces that now occupy the Aspen Art Museum’s main exhibit space. Created by Polish artist Monika Sosnowska, the sculptures are part of her self-titled show, commissioned specifically for the museum. Her work typically manipulates architectural pieces, like staircases, into often unrecognizable forms that balance with the space around the works. The striking exhibit features just three pieces. She has been featured in a solo show New York’s Museum of Modern Art and the Venice Bienniale. The show runs through April 21, and admission to the Aspen Art Museum is always free.
