Founded in 1947, Christian Dior has been a name, a luxury brand that is synonymous with couture, made-to-measure.  Dior returns to its roots with an extremely exclusive bag named the Diorissimo.  Last Friday, Haute Living relived this Parsian lifestyle by attending a private trunk showing at the Ritz Carlton where dedicated Dior clients were invited to see the Diorissimo bag in person.  Surrounded by well-heeled women and their stylish friends, everyone nibbled on macarons and champagne while discussing which color combination to order and how fast they could obtain it.

The Diorissimo is different in that it must be ordered.  Unavailable for instant gratification, this piece of understated luxury screams San Francisco under-the-radar style.  It takes 170 pieces and over 2 days to create this bag.  The handle alone takes over 24 hours to craft.  From the moment it is ordered (there are 20 different color combinations in supple calf’s leather as well as crocodile (matte and shiny), ostrich and even mink), it can be expedited for delivery to a mere 4 weeks for special clients.  Haute Living’s favorite color combination seen that night was this striking Azure blue with contrast interior of a shocking rose.   But we love that ostrich seen above too.
