Rob Pruitt x Jimmy Choo has finally arrived in San Francisco!
We know what we’re doing this weekend. We’re going to do some serious credit card cardio at Jimmy Choo as their collaboration with contemporary artist, Rob Pruitt has finally landed in stores. As the holidays are just around the corner, there’s no better time to pick up something festive from this collection. “Rob saw this as a celebration in a way…,” continues Simon Holloway, Jimmy Choo Creative Director, “to make it feel like you’re wearing a piece of New Year’s Eve on your foot.”
Bright, bold and whimsical pieces like these really make a statement. Mr. Pruitt utilizes pandas, a key component of many of his iconic artworks, as the cute juxtaposition to the signature sex appeal of animal prints, which Jimmy Choo has always excelled at. Shoes and bags feature dégradé leather linings patterned with repeating angel and devil pandas. Soles of shoes are finished with a wash of dégradé colours creating an eye catching flash of colour with each step. According to Pruitt, ‘I think about birds and bees and how they’re attracted to the colorful and architectural audacity of flowers. I use glitter in my artwork in hopes that the viewer will experience the same magnetism toward my artwork that birds and bees experience toward flowers.’
