John Lescroart

News | July 28, 2012

14-time New York Times bestselling author John Lescroart began writing while in college and, fourteen years later, decided to try to publish his work. He was enthusiastically received by New York publishers and, since then, has published 22 books, many of which have been translated into 16 languages in more than 75 countries. Most of his books take place in and around his hometown of San Francisco, with his main protagonist being a San Francisco attorney.

Originally a musician working through numerous day jobs – computer programmer, moving man, and house painter among others – he started gaining recognition in the literary world after going through many hardships, including a bout with spinal meningitis and a two-hour life sentence by his doctor. He has since seen great success with his career, including winning The Joseph Henry Jackson Award, given yearly to the San Francisco Foundation for Best Novel by a California author.
