Actor Djimon Hounsou has quickly shot down rumors of a break-up with wife of two years, Kimora Lee Simmons, after she was recently spotted partying it up at The Palazzo in Vegas.
The Academy Award-nominated actor, who’s starred in blockbusters such as Gladiator and Blood Diamond, is denying claims of a break-up with the 37-year-old American fashion designer whom he has a three-year-old son with.
According to the New York Daily News, Hounsou walked out on Simmons after a “big fight over money.” The source claims the split may have been fueled by Simmons’ ex-husband, hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, and his decision to “stop funding the pair’s lifestyle.” Kimora has two daughters with ex-husband Russell.
Other reports claim Simmons, who is also the creative director and president of shopping website JustFab.com, is selling her six-bedroom, eight-bath Beverly Hills country home for $1.2 million. She responded on Twitter saying, “”Wow, I put 1 of several properties I own (+ DONT live in) on the market & now apparently my whole life is fallin apart?! Smdh. Rumors, Rumors…”
Hounsou has called the allegations “vicious lies,” says the rumors are “totally fabricated” and that “the press…spreading these lies is irresponsible on their part.” He told GlobalGrind exclusively, “I am a man of integrity and would never betray my wife or family.”
The African-born actor married Simmons in 2009 after three years of dating.
