Community Environmental Council to Host 2012 Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival

News | April 20, 2012

The Community Environmental Council will host the 2012 Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival this weekend at Alameda Park. The festival’s theme, “Mobilize,” follows the CEC’s mission of ridding Santa Barbara of fossil fuels. The weekend-long event takes place Sat. from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sun. from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The festival includes seven zones—Bike World, Campus Point, Public Square, Green Car Show, Live Green, Eco Marketplace and Kid’s Corner—and features a food court, a main stage, four smaller stages and a beer garden.

The Green Car Show is the longest-running Green Car Show in the U.S. This year, it will feature the newly released Ford Focus Electric and Coda Sedan, as well as 2012 models of the Toyota Plug-in Prius, the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt.
