Arkhangelsk Presents Napoleon Graphic Art Exhibition
If Napoleon Bonaparte were alive today he would be taking selfies of himself in imperial robes and French military uniforms on Instagram. But alas, he was living in the 18th century so he had to settle with painted self-portraits and sculptures. Napoleon is now the centerpiece in a nationwide art exhibition series, which marks the 200th anniversary of the 1812 war the French leader waged against Russia.
The exhibition spans 34 of Russia’s largest cities this April and May, and begins in the northern city of Arkhangelsk.
The graphic arts collection 62 portraits of Napoleon, Emperor Alexander II, top generals from the French and Russian sides and paintings of famous battles.
