In honor of the Olympics Games in 2014, Hennessey may be launching a limited edition of the famous cognac. On Thursday at a meeting in Sochi, the suggestion was given to Maurice Richard Hennessey, a descendant of the founder.

Ironically, in 1818 in homage to Alexander I birthday the widow of Emperor Paul I suggested that the House develop a cognac and since then, had built a dynasty of Hennessey after the Romanov family kept making regular orders up until 1917.

According to the Frenchman, “It’s a good idea, deserving reflection,” after contemplating his family’s ties to Russia, so only time will tell when the limited edition cognac is produced.
