Portion Of The Late Yves Saint Laurent’s Archive To Be Displayed At The Denver Art Museum

Fashion, News | March 29, 2012

The name Yves Saint Laurent evokes an image of women in tuxedos and glamorous ball gowns set against the chic backdrop of Paris, so it’s no wonder the fashion industry is a little baffled that a portion of his archive will be mounted at the Denver Art Museum through July 8

The retrospective, which was originally an exhibit in Paris 2010, will occupy the entire second floor of the Denver Art Museum and will feature 200 couture outfits spanning Yves Saint Laurent’s career, including his ultra-feminine dresses and the ‘Le Smoking’ suit, which became synonymous with the changing of women’s role in society.
The exhibition highlights the most significant pieces from his travel-inspired collections from China, Spain and Africa.
