The SF 20/21 Design Show and Sale opened to its 4th year on September 15th with a fabulously McCall’s catered cocktail party at Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason Center where the stylish denizens of San Francisco came to survey, socialize and shop items ranging from vintage Gripoix jewelry to modern one-offs designed by local artisans. From tasty cocktails supplied by sponsor Grey Goose to the sweetest endings of fresh miniature doughnuts and ice cream sandwiches, the event was a feast not only for the eyes.
Whether it be the A-listers walking about or works of art hanging on the wall, the event was a dazzling fete. Hedge Gallery transported us into a rustic paradise with its hay-structure. Over thirty other exhibitors like Anthony Meiers Fine Art, Battersea, and Gray Gallery, created unique spaces (many minimalistic) to highlight their pieces. Many were one-off items like a vintage Cartier cigarette holder or a 1960’s chrome cage egg chair that was completely refinished with supple black leather. Good thing many of the exhibitors had wireless credit card scanners on hand because many attendees were shopping up a storm.
