Haute Event: Dylan Lauren’s Sweet Meet and Great in Fort Lauderdale
Over the weekend, the Candy Queen herself, Dylan Lauren founder and CEO of Dylan’s Candy Bar came to the brand new Books and Books in the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale. Beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19, Lauren brought in a crowd as she spoke about her latest book, Dylan’s Candy Bar: Unwrap Your Sweet Life. Let’s just say, it was a sweet success. Attendees were able to meet with Lauren as they enjoyed nibbling on some yummy sweets from the successful Candy Bar.
Lauren’s latest candy conquest, Dylan’s Candy Bar: Unwrap Your Sweet Life is a four-color book that features pop-art photographs with fun candy recipes, arts and crafts and ideas how to entertain with candy. The book also includes history on sweets, candy trivia, and facts all about candy related topics. Readers also get a glimpse at the CEO’s candy filled life with quotes and photographs of Lauren’s life.
Dylan’s Candy Bar is the biggest candy store in the world with candies sold from all over, consisting of more than 7,000 different kinds of sweets. The stores are located in New York City, East Hampton, Roosevelt Field in Garden City, Houston, and Orlando along with various upscale venues all over the world.
Lauren is the daughter of fashion designer, Ralph Lauren and author Ricky Lauren. She graduated with a major in art history from Duke University and decided to create a candy store inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2001.
