Haute Event: Vanessa Getty Hosts Ralph Lauren Fall 2010 Collection to Benefit Peninsula Humane Society

News | November 15, 2010

On Oct. 21, Vanessa Getty hosted an event for her free mobile spay-and-neuter pet clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her pet project, held at the Sherman House, included a showing of Ralph Lauren’s 2010 Fall collection. Guests were treated to Champagne and food as they shopped and listened to pianist Robin Sutherland play tunes.

Fifteen percent of the sales for the night went to the new pet clinic, which is operated by Peninsula Humane Society. Getty herself has rescued four cats and chose the fashions to be shown at the event, which reflected San Francisco style.

One of the most memorable purchases of the night was made by Christine Suppes. She bought a beaded and sequined black silk-georgette cocktail slip dress with tulle overlay from Lauren’s runway collection to wear that night at a donors’ party at the city’s Palace of the Legion of Honor museum.
