The 7 Best New Restaurants in Los Angeles This Fall, From Birdie G’s to Sous Sous
The best new restaurants in Los Angeles this fall: Birdie G’s (Oct. 26), Spacca Tutto, Marée, Gable, Malka, Sous Sous and The Brothers Sushi.
Fall in Los Angeles has been unusually generous to the reservation book. A beloved chef’s restaurant returns inside a landmark hotel, Nancy Silverton opens an Italian steakhouse in the rebuilding Palisades, and the chef behind Michelin-starred Lielle opens a Parisian bistro upstairs. These are the best new restaurants in Los Angeles this fall, chosen for the room, the kitchen and the guest list.
Four of the seven sit inside hotels, from Fairmont Century Plaza and The Hollywood Roosevelt to SIXTY Beverly Hills and Silver Lake’s new Hotel Lucile, a 1931 church reborn with 25 rooms. The rest bring serious pedigree to Pacific Palisades, Pico-Robertson and South Beverly Drive.
Birdie G’s — Century City
Jeremy Fox’s Birdie G’s, which closed at Bergamot Station at the end of 2025, reopens on October 26 as the flagship restaurant of Fairmont Century Plaza. Fox, a Food & Wine Best New Chef, worked with EDG Design on a 1970s-inflected room of burnt-mustard banquettes and plaid bar stools, and the new Birdie G’s runs from 6 a.m. coffee through dinner, with weekend brunch. The Pickle Chick, matzo ball soup and koji-aged steaks return. The one to hold out for is the stained-glass rose petal pie. Reservations are open now.

Nancy Silverton opened her modern Italian steakhouse at Palisades Village on October 15, a milestone for a neighborhood still rebuilding after the January 2025 fire. Built with Caruso and New School Hospitality, it widens the chi SPACCA idea into a full steakhouse, with beef sorted by cut, breed and age, from Australian Wagyu to a 50-ounce Creekstone porterhouse. AvroKO dressed the 108-seat room in travertine, burgundy banquettes and brass. The import that matters is the Focaccia di Recco, carried over directly from chi SPACCA.

Marée — Pico-Robertson

Marcus Jernmark, the Aquavit and Frantzén alum behind Michelin-starred Lielle, opened Marée on September 9 in the airy dining room directly upstairs. The 70-seat Parisian-California bistro and wine bar glows under Fritz Hansen clam-shell pendants, with a green onyx bar and candlelit tables. Start with the escargot beignets, then order the burger au poivre, split and set in a four-peppercorn sauce, before the 30-a-night allotment runs out. Reservations are taken and walk-ins are welcome.

Gable — Hollywood

The Hollywood Roosevelt’s new restaurant, open since August 18, takes its name from Clark Gable, one of the hotel’s most storied guests, and the 82-seat room is built around a live-fire hearth. Culinary director Chris Flint, formerly of Maude and Eleven Madison Park, cooks a market-driven California menu with chef de cuisine Will Kelly, and Chad Austin runs the cocktails. The tableside moment is the 6th & Wilshire pizza, layered with bulgogi and kimchi and torched at the table. Dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday.

Malka — Beverly Hills

Israeli chef Eyal Shani, whose Shmoné in New York holds a Michelin star, brought Malka to SIXTY Beverly Hills in September with Pagani Projects. It is kosher, but the energy is pure Shani: earthy tones, layered lighting, chandeliers and a sculptural white oak bar built for lingering. Los Angeles exclusives include a wild King Ora salmon bruschetta and a niçoise salad. The signature is the Queen Malka schnitzel, a chicken schnitzel stuffed with mashed potato. Dinner runs Sunday through Thursday.

Sous Sous — Silver Lake

Set in the former nave of the 1931 Bethany Presbyterian Church that is now Hotel Lucile, Sous Sous opened on September 14 and has been one of the city’s most talked-about rooms since. Electric Bowery restored the stained glass and soaring beams, then added an organ-like arched bar, mossy green banquettes and 25-foot curtains. Chef Patrick Costa of De La Nonna cooks between the American South and the South of France: Espelette-rimmed oysters, hush puppies with honey butter and a bouillabaisse for two. Book on Resy.

The Brothers Sushi — Beverly Hills
Mark Okuda’s dry-aged fish program earned the Woodland Hills original a place in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide, and on September 8 The Brothers Sushi opened in the South Beverly Drive room that Sushi Kiyono held for 27 years. Charles Niles of Niles Interiors redid it with rattan fixtures, bronze sconces, and a jade marble sushi counter. Executive chef Moriyuki Kanamaru, from Jinpachi and Asanebo, offers omakase or à la carte. The Beverly Hills exclusive is the A5 wagyu teriyaki slider, and the spicy tuna crispy rice arrives here with caviar.
