What Makes Him Haute: We first introduced readers to Stanlee Gatti for our inaugural issue in January 2009, but he has been such a staple of high-society events in San Francisco that he needed little introduction. He is the premier event designer in town. His resume is chock-full of some of the most well-respected names and brands the world over that have called on him for their grand-scale fetes, including Mikhail Gorbachev, Armani, Arista Records, Elton John, Gordon Getty and all of the San Francisco cultural institutions.

What Makes Him Haute Now: As San Francisco residents, political figures and baseball payers alike gathered for a street parade, Stanlee Gatti could think of nothing more than making it rain — confetti that is. What’s there to fuss about confetti? Well, to the event designer, everything from size, shape and origin matter. Gatti was in charge of designing the 10,000 pounds of orange confetti that was to be sprinkled over the San Francisco Giants Victory Parade & Rally at City Hall. “Of course I would’ve liked even more confetti,” confessed Gatti. “I wanted it four-feet deep, like the snow in Aspen on Jan. 23. Except orange.” An estimated 1 million people showed up to celebrate the Giant’s first World Series win and to be showered in the celebratory orange drizzle. The best part is that the orange confetti is also green since it was about 90 percent eco-friendly and biodegradable. Party on San Francisco, party on Gatti.
