This week’s cocktail of the week comes via Barcelona, Spain, from the world’s number 10 top bar, Paradiso. Tucked behind an unassuming pastrami shop in Barcelona’s El Born district, Paradiso is one of those places that feels like a secret worth keeping — it’s a cocktail experience that blurs the line between mixology and magic.

You enter through a vintage fridge door — yes, really — and step into a space that feels part mid-century dream, part modern fairytale. The curved wooden arches are meant to evoke the inside of a whale, but the overall vibe is more sleek, surreal speakeasy than storybook kitsch. And the drinks? They’re wild. Expect cocktails served with plumes of smoke, glowing lights, edible illusions — all of it theatrical but never gimmicky. Everything is rooted in flavor and balance, with a playful twist.

Whether you’re sipping a martini that forms an iceberg before your eyes or drinking rum infused with salted caramel tea and banana shōchū, Paradiso delivers something rare: a night out that still feels unforgettable the next morning.

This week, we’ve decided to highlight the Mediterranean Treasure, a complex cocktail that evokes the flavors of the Mediterranean. According to Paradiso owner Giacomo Giannotti, “the fino sherry provides a foundational note, while oyster leaf introduces a distinct sea-like flavor. Coriander adds a layer of spice, contributing to the cocktail’s complexity. Finally, the salt rim further enhances the sea flavor, creating a drink that is truly reminiscent of the Mediterranean.”

15 fino sherry
10 elderflower licor
4 cilantro leaf
1 Oyster leaf
