Together with the Miami Design District Associates (MDDA) and the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH), the highly anticipated Watches & Wonders Miami event will take place this upcoming Presidents’ Day weekend—February 16th to February 19th—in Miami’s famed Design District. With a plethora of happenings, seasoned watch enthusiasts and novices alike will be sure to enjoy the event, which will be the first of its kind in the US.
Twenty-one of the top luxury timepiece manufacturers in the world will be in attendance, showcasing their latest creations and exciting brand experiences. This includes A. Lange & Söhne, Armin Strom, Audemars Piguet, Bulgari, Cartier, F.P. Journe, Hermès, Hublot, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, , Panerai, Parmigiani Fleurier, Phillips, Piaget, Ralph Lauren, Tag Heuer, Vacheron Constantin and Van Cleef & Arpels. Certain brands will also set up pop-up boutiques, such as Kari Voutilainen, RJ-Romain Jerome and Romain Gauthier.
In addition to perusing the exquisite watch selections, guests may enjoy special activations in each brand’s respective boutique, seminars, lectures, roundtable discussions, workshops and ‘Telling Time’—a compilation of nine films by international artists, combined with virtual reality experiences.
The event’s Friday night debut will begin with a swanky, celebratory evening at Paradise Plaza. Hosted by Fabienne Lupo—Chairwoman and Managing Director of Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie—and Craig Robins—CEO & President of DACRA—attendees will enjoy an Emilio Estefan-produced Brazilian musical performance presented by the Knight Foundation, and later on, cocktails and Latin cuisine in MDD’s Palm Court, where street performances will take place and celebrity DJs Richie Hell and Brendan Fallis will provide background beats.
Though all parts of WWM are noteworthy in themselves, some standout events include a watch-collecting seminar led by Paul Boutros, Phillips’ Head of Watches for the US at Opera Gallery; a ‘Women in Watchmaking” roundtable discussion and even programs for children on Sunday, making the three-day affair a family affair as well.
