Weekend Update: Miami Recovers From Hurricane Irma

Throughout the past week, Floridians have prepared as monster storm, Hurricane Irma, struck the Caribbean and Florida. As the storm shifted West and Miami looked like it may somehow be spared, in the wake of the storm we still see that the city suffered major damage even without getting a direct hit. Throughout the state, more than 3 million people are left without power and the roads of Brickell, Downtown Miami and more have become submerged under waist-heigh water following the powerful storm surges. While the storm’s worst may be over, Miami still has a lot of cleaning up to do as the tireless teams work to bring the city back to life. Our hearts are with those on the Caribbean Islands, the Keys and Florida’s West Coast that were directly hit by Irma.
