Spring has sprung, and with it, a new season of charity events is upon us. From vital cancer research, aid provision for disenfranchised city youth, rainforest conservation and even playing Ping Pong for lung cancer, the following events will give you a sense of what fun ways you can help a worthy cause this season.

Artists for Africa – April 22
Having raised over $1 million during the past two decades to support conservation in East African rainforests, Artists for Africa is the African Rainforest Conservancy’s signature event. The 24th annual benefit at the Tribeca Rooftop will honor Andrew Sabin for his philanthropic work and his passion for environmental preservation. In addition to drinks, dinner, and an auction of over 20 pieces of art, the night’s festivities will include live music and a DJ. Participating artists include Pamela Hanson, Peter Max, Beth O’Donnell, Alex Beard, Lola Montes Schnabel, WhIsBe and Hunt Slonem. The funds raised at the annual gala will support the African Rainforest Conservancy’s efforts to preserve and restore African rainforests—among the oldest and most bio-diverse in the world.

Ping Pong & Pour – May 6
LUNGevity Foundation is hosting a night of casual socializing at SPiN NYC to support their work improving outcomes for people living with lung cancer. The lounge and bar venue is complete with 17 Ping Pong courts. Celebrity chefs will provide signature cocktails especially for the occasion, while individuals or teams can partner up on the courts for bragging rights in a Pong tournament, enjoying free food and even an open bar.

Spirit of Achievement – May 19
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine Women’s Division is hosting its 61st annual Spirit of Achievement Luncheon at 30 Rockefeller Plaza’s legendary fine-dining space The Rainbow Room. Candice Bergen and Renée Fleming will be among this year’s honorees, alongside leading heart doctors Daphne Hsu and Robert Pass. Past honorees include Eleanor Roosevelt, Lena Horne, Meryl Streep, Barbara Walters, and Sharon Stone. Women’s Division President Carol Roaman and chairs Terri Goldberg and Andrea Stark will host while NBC Today Show contributor Jill Martin will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Women’s Division initiative to support cancer research conducted by the college’s leading scientists.

Partnership with Children – June 4
A distinguished fundraising event attended by over 450 guests, including New York City’s corporate, philanthropic and social leaders, Partnership with Children’s Annual Spring Gala provides significant support to the organization and its mission to address the needs of New York City’s most vulnerable students. The event will feature a silent auction with dinner and cocktails. The organization’s Leadership Awards will be presented to Mark Dowley, Marianne Gambelli, and Kenneth Mortenson for their generosity and sympathy with the cause.

Beach Ball – June 20
Alexandra Lebenthal and Jay Diamond are hosting the 12th annual Beach Ball fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of the Bellport Area at their beautiful bay front home, along with a host committee including fashion designer Isabella Rosellina, Dana Buchman and Interview editor-in-chief Keith Pollock. Live and silent auctions, a private fireworks show from Fireworks by Grucci, music and dancing, and delectable food and drinks have all been incorporated into the benefit’s “The Art of Summer” theme. All proceeds from the Beach Ball contribute to the operating expenses of the Boys & Girls Clubhouse and ensure that over 700 children, ages 5 through 19, have a safe place to learn, grow and feel a sense of belonging and community. This event is sure to be the biggest party kicking off the summer season on the Great South Bay.
