In his review for Erdem Moralioğlu’s Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear collection, Tim Blanks of Style.com describes Erdem’s muse as “A nut, a woman fallen on hard times, trailing, clouds of faded glamour, shreds of privilege, delusional notions of her own capabilities. A dream to work with, in other words.”

And I swear, I could see that woman in the collection while it was being presented by Saks Fifth Avenue at FASHION FORWARD, and again at the following day’s brunch, which benefited San Francisco Opera Guild’s educational programs.

I came to the brunch early so I could take a closer look at Erdem’s collection; I also had my eye on a beautiful purple cape. Of course, it was decorated with feathers!

When I was introduced to Erdem Moralioglu, he smiled and said: “I saw you walking on the street from my car window and was admiring your skirt. Then I realized that we are probably going to the same event.”

I did not have a heart to tell him that I was so inspired by his show that I totally copied one of his looks. I think he knew — it would explain the smile. I said: “That is an amazing compliment coming from you.” We chatted for a few more moments as we watched the most stylish women of San Francisco admire his collection and place the trunk show orders.
