San Francisco: Wingtip Unveils The Bank of Spirits

Are you hosting a cocktail soirée and want to show off your mixology expertise? Wingtip has you covered. The most recent add-on to one of San Francisco’s hautest menswear shops—in addition to the lavish private club on the second floor—is an in-house liquor emporium called The Bank of Spirits. This latest amenity truly makes Wingtip a one-stop shopping destination for the man who prefers to enjoy the finer things in life with a well-made cocktail in hand.
Located in the back of the store at 550 Montgomery Street, The Bank features floor-to-ceiling wooden shelves, marble walls and library ladders (used to reach the top shelf bottles)—décor that brings to mind an old-fashioned library. In place of books, however, hundreds of bottles filled with libations from bourbon, rye, mezcal, champagne and bitters line the walls. Featuring such rarities as Seven Stills’ new Chocasmoke whiskey, made with chocolate-oatmeal stout and a kick of peat, there is truly no end to unique refreshments housed in this historic location.
For those understandably overwhelmed by the myriad of spirits offered, The Bank of Spirits at Wingtip features special three-bottle bundles, specially curated by general manager Kyle Nadeau and bar manager Brian MacGregor. Each month, the bundle will highlight a different collection of whiskey/whisky or scotch from any of the world’s prime distilleries. This month’s package features a Glenrothes 2001, Benriach 16 Sauternes and a Tamdhu 10 year. These bundles will focus on smaller distilleries from around the globe, perfect for celebratory gifting or as additions to any aspiring Bond man’s growing personal collection.
