A Pasta Bar, the SoHo restaurant that built its name on handmade pasta cooked in full view of the dining room, has crossed to Florida. A Pasta Bar Miami Beach, the concept’s second location and its first outside New York, opens on October 21, 2026, at 1784 West Avenue in Sunset Harbour.
The format travels intact. At the center of the 4,700-square-foot room is a freestanding open kitchen ringed by a 17-seat chef’s counter, so the pasta-making is visible from every seat. Co-owners Nicola Pedrazzoli, Simone Tiligna and Andrea Pedrazzoli opened the original in SoHo in 2017; Miami is what the team calls “A Pasta Bar 2.0.”

The kitchen belongs to Chef Esther, whose cooking draws on the bold flavors of her Southern Spanish roots and the disciplined simplicity of her Italian mother-in-law’s kitchen. Trained internationally and refined in New York, she works from a short list of quality ingredients and precise technique, explaining that “when you cook with very few elements, every detail matters.”
That precision shows in the method. Pasta is made in-house daily and finished in a wok over induction rather than in a traditional pan, which gives the cooks exact control of the heat and lets the “risottatura” technique bind pasta and sauce into a silky coating on every strand. Each plate is finished with tweezers, a house signature the team calls “dressed to impress.”

The New York signatures make the trip: Tagliatelle al Tartufo Nero, Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe, handmade Agnolotti di Carne and Pizza Pata Negra. A daily pasta lab adds limited-run shapes and fillings such as Pink Salmon Culurgiones, Red Striped Fagottini and Green Casoncelli, along with specialty flours developed with a more health-conscious approach. For the full arc, a five-course pasta tasting menu is designed for two.

Miami is where the menu widens. A crudo selection leads into a wood-smoked grill program: a boneless prime ribeye finished with café de Paris butter, Filetto al Pepe with pepper sauce and crispy fries, and Cotoletta ‘alla Valdostana,’ a take on the Milanese layered with prosciutto cotto and melted Fontina. Seafood is seasonal and market-driven, with local catches such as red snapper, hogfish, Dover sole and turbot.
Evenings start early. A Milanese-style aperitivo runs from 5 to 7 p.m. with classic Italian aperitifs, a focused spritz list and small bites such as tramezzini and crocchette. The cocktail list includes Il Conte, a fig-infused Negroni; La Grande Mela, with roasted apple and pecorino foam; and I Mille, a tropical Garibaldi made with coconut-washed Campari and a hint of coffee. The wine list is exclusively Italian, from established regions to lesser-known producers.

Alessandro Pasquale, who designed the New York original, built the room on contrast, with construction by G3C. Grigio Carnico marble meets blue steel, Patagonia Green stone sits against antique brass and a backlit Italian quartzite serves as the focal point, all grounded by Shou Sugi Ban wood and Italian pieces from the 1960s. The dining room seats 56, with an eight-seat bar, a 28-seat outdoor area and a private dining room for up to 14.

“Miami has grown into a true culinary destination,” says founder Nicola Pedrazzoli. “There’s an energy here that aligns perfectly with how we see dining — something that goes beyond the plate. It’s about atmosphere, connection, and experience.”
Sunset Harbour is a smart address for it. The neighborhood rewards places locals can return to during the week, and a counter seat in front of a working pasta kitchen, with aperitivo before 7, is exactly that kind of habit. A Pasta Bar is at 1784 West Avenue, Miami Beach, and is open daily from 5 to 11 p.m.; reservations are available through Resy and OpenTable.
