Haute Scene: Audi Presents AFI’s 42nd Annual Life Achievement Award Tribute

AFI presented a truly memorable tribute to Jane Fonda during its 42nd annual Life Achievement Award ceremony on April 5th. The biggest names in showbiz turned up to support the iconic actor, philanthropist and activist at the Audi-sponsored ceremony. After a three-course dinner, longtime friends and admirers such as Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, Cameron Diaz, Eva Longoria, Sally Field, Wanda Sykes, and Lily Tomlin gave speeches, each fondly recalling his or her favorite moments working with the two-time Oscar winner; Jeff Daniels even performed a song he wrote for the occasion entitled “Abs, Buns and Thighs.” Fonda’s son, actor Troy Garity, then gave a touching, tearful speech before Michael Douglas took to the Dolby Theatre stage to present Fonda with her award. The assembled crowd then headed over to the neighboring Ohm nightclub for the event’s late-night afterparty.
