Denzel Washington to Star in Broadway’s ‘A Raisin In The Sun’
Denzel Washington is heading back to Broadway! The 58-year-old award-winning actor will star opposite Diahann Carroll in the Broadway revival of Lorraine Hansberry’s classic A Raisin In The Sun.
The play, which opened on Broadway in 1959, tells the story of a black family’s experiences in the Washington Park Subdivision of Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood. Sophie Okonedo, Anika Noni Rose, Stephen Tyrone Williams, Jason Dirden and Stephen McKinley Henderson will appear alongside Washington in the Kenny Leon-directed play.
Washington previously won a Best Actor Tony for his performance in 2010′s Fences. A Raisin In The Sun will open on April 3, 2014 at the Barrymore Theatre.
