Mercedes-Benz Unveils Ultra-Luxurious Golf Cart

If you’re favorite part of golfing is driving around in the cart, then your golf experience is about to get a lot more luxurious! Mercedes-Benz recently showcased plans for its new Vision Golf Cart at the British Open and the results are anything but ordinary.

According to Motor Authority, the vehicle is driven electrically and runs on a battery that is charged via roof-top solar panels. It will likely also offer manual charging, as used in conventional golf carts. Almost all of the cart’s functions can be controlled using a touch-screen device. The centre console will include a multimedia panel with rotatable docking station for iPad, iPhone and a USB interface.

To drive the vehicle, golfers will use a joystick instead of a traditional steering wheel. This will enable the cart to be driven by occupants on either side.

Hundreds of golf fans around the globe submitted ideas and concepts to Mercedes-Benz about the amenities they would want in a state-of-the-art golf cart. The company’s design chief, Gorden Wagener, headed the project and said that the design fits in well with the automaker’s ‘sensual-purity’ design philosophy.
