Haute Preview: LA Wine Fest Coming to the City of Angels This Weekend

The 2013 LA Wine Fest is coming to Los Angeles this weekend and will offer celebrity chef demonstrations, tasting classes, VIP access, Los Angeles’ hottest food trucks, and more.

The festival will take place from June 8-9 and will benefit homegrown charity Food Forward. The 8th Annual LA Wine Fest will showcase award-winning wines from 13 countries, offer craft beers and artisan cocktails, and serve up interactive cooking demos, wine tasting seminars, food trucks and early-entrance VIP tickets. Celebrity chefs Eric Greenspan (The Foundry) and Chang Sivilay (Mandarin Hotel West Hollywood and Asia de Cuba) will present the interactive cooking demonstrations on the Wolf Range, and food trucks on hand will include Lobsta Truck, Heirloom, Tainamite, Green Truck, Hot Kitchen, The Surfer Taco, Slammin’ Sliders, Crepe de Ville, Raleigh Café, and Sweet Arleen’s Cupcake & Break Puddings. Food truck plates are not included in event ticket price, and plates start at $2.

On June 8, seminars include Discovering Spain’s Rioja ($15; 2:45pm), Artisanal Cheese & Wine Pairing Adventures with Barrie Lynn, The Cheese Impresario ($35; 3:45pm), and Walking in Their Shoes ($15; 4:45pm). On June 9, seminars include Wine & Cheese – A Good Combo? ($35; 1pm), Discovering Spain’s Rioja ($15; 2pm), and Artisanal Cheese & Wine Pairing Adventures ($35; 3pm).

Tickets cost $85 (single), $150 (couple), $20 (designated driver) and VIP tickets will be available on June 8 only and a $30 upgrade includes early admission at 1pm, access to the VIP Garden featuring exclusive tastings and VIP gift bag.

Dr. Joel M. Fisher founded the LAWineFest in 2005, and it is the largest and longest-running wine-tasting event. The event will take place at Hollywood’s Historic Raleigh Studios, 5300 Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. Street parking (metered on Saturday) and paid parking will be available at Paramount Studio lots on Bronson and Van Ness.
