Haute 100 Update Miami: Brett Ratner Donates $1 Million to Oscars Museum

Haute 100-lister Brett Ratner is best known for his high-octane work on the Rush Hour trilogy and his upcoming Hercules picture, but the director made waves yesterday for his contribution to the arts. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the same Academy that picks Oscar winners every year, launched its campaign to finance its museum in 2012, and with Ratner’s contribution they are more than halfway to their $300 million goal. Ratner says, “[He] feel[s] blessed to be part of such a magnificent museum [and] couldn’t be more excited that our Academy will finally have its own museum that will preserve and exhibit cinema’s greatest work.”
