Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2012: Showcase And Competition In Spectacular Settings

The Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2012 will open the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda’s superyacht racing season, lasting from June 4 to 9.

The regatta is the first major event in the Mediterranean, and the crystalline waters of the archipelago La Maddalena will be the setting for the competition of 20 yachts, which are divided into Cruising and Performance divisions.

While the setting and showcase promise to be stunning, a few participants should be paid special attention. Regular participant to watch: Pier Luigi Loro Piana’s 25-meter My Song and Highland Fling, the smallest competing boats and current Performance division title holder. Also guaranteed to draw attention are the 57.5 metre Twizzle–the largest of the fleet–the 53.8-metre Parsifal III and the 45-metre Salperton.
