On Sunday, April 22nd, the Jeep Brand launched its 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude Edition, announced as the “official vehicle of USA Basketball” and celebrated the men’s and women’s USA Basketball team’s quest for Gold this summer at LA Center Studios in Downtown LA.
The night celebrated the brand’s official partnership with USA Basketball with a kick-off celebration, Power.Forward., hosted by USA Basketball Finalist and 2008 USAB Team Member, Chris Paul.
Guests including Kim Kardashian, Olivia Munn and NFL star Terrell Owens enjoyed shooting baskets at the Pop-a-Shot, and danced to beats spun by DJ Biz Markie. During the bash, Chris Paul drove out on stage in the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude, gave shout-outs over the mic and introduced a one-of-a kind performance by Common. The crowd went wild when the hip-hop superstar jumped out on stage, free-styled and covered hits by Notorious B.I.G, Coldplay and Kanye West. During the show, Common picked a lucky female guest from the crowd and gave her a special serenade.
The celebration continued throughout the night, where partygoers received a first look of Jeep’s uniquely designed special edition model, 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Altitude Edition which includes a body-color hardtop with matching painted center sections on the front and rear bumpers, eighteen-inch, five spoke alloy wheels, a Mopar black fuel fill door and black “Jeep” grille badge.
Other celebrities in attendance included Michael B. Jordan, Cassie Scerbo, Malika Haqq, Scott Porter, Ryan Rottman, Mitchel Musso, Brett Davern, Chris Gayla, Omari Hardwick, Sterling Brim and members of the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Hornets.
