Russian Theater To Cater To Foreign Audiences By Adding English Subtitles
Moscow authorities have announced their intention to introduce English subtitles for the capital’s theater performances.
This means that foreign audiences will be able to enjoy Russian theater to the utmost. The initiative came from the Moscow Culture Department, which want to make it easier for foreigners to visit Moscow’s theater and not be “lost in translation.” More than 500 foreigners live and work in Moscow.
The city is planning to help the capital’s major theaters get at least one should a month, which will be accompanied by either English or German subtitles.
Also in the works is a project to help make Moscow’s road signs more foreigner-friendly.
