Haute Event: Cheryle Burke and Rob Kardashian At The Ideology Launch

On Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 Myself including, fashion editors, Manhattan’s social elite, and taste-makers alike gathered to celebrate the launch of Ideology’s new face of the brand, Cheryl Burke, who was on hand for the soiree at the fabulous Dream Downtown Hotel. Cheryl,  is a renowned professional dancer and two-time winner of DANCING WITH THE STARS, will appear in the campaign for the line launching in February 2012.  Guests sipped on cocktails and previewed the collection to the tunes of Reality TV’s newest DJ, Rob Kardashian, who spent time in the DJ booth and mingling with guests. Rob Kardashian sent the crowd into a frenzy as the cameras flashed away.

Fashion celebutants Phillip Bloch, Richie Rich, and Supermodel Irina Shayk, who was wearing a sexy cocktail dress, turned heads while professional dancers surprised guests with hot and original dance routines wearing the new line. The new line reflects a modern design comprised of functional easy to mix-and-match pieces that add a beat of unexpected fashion to any errand, tango, or work-out.  I got a chance to interview Cheryl on how this new line has changed her life, working with Rob Kardashian and what’s next for the TV star.

Tell me how it feels to be coming off of a very big season of Dancing with the stars?

It’s amazing! I cannot believe that Rob and I came in second place, that’s huge! Even making it into the finals is a big deal. I feel like we won even coming in second. It was such an amazing season and it was so great to be apart of someone’s life and watch it transform, like Rob’s did.

Do you feel that you have had more breakout success than other Dancing with the Stars instructors have had in the past?

Everyone benefits from the show. I definitely feel like it has opened up some doors. It’s awesome to be able to be apart of this line. Ideology is such a great line of products. I used to shop at Macy’s when I was a little girl, I never thought I would be the face of one of their clothing lines, let alone their fitness line. It’s such a shocker to me to really see how DWTS has helped my career. I’m so thankful for everything that has come my way.

Was important to you to partner with a retailer like Macy’s that is affordable, easily accessible and family friendly?

Absolutely. They are very family friendly. This line in particular is just for women. I feel so good in the line. I’m a curvy woman, I’ve got hips and I feel like other women who feel like they can’t wear certain clothes. With this line in particular there is something for every woman.

How would you sum up working with Rob Kardashian this season?

He is the one partner I’ve had who I feel really transformed his whole life. He came into this season with not the best reputation to now people saying “Wow this kid has heart and talent” and to be able to be apart of someone’s growth is a huge honor.

What next for you Cheryl?

Well this clothing line is such a big deal and it’s happening right now. I’ve got other endorsement deals. I did have a book that came out and hopefully I will be apart of next season.
