Dior Seeks Raf Simons As New Creative Director

Rumor has it that Belgian designer and current creative director at Jill Sander, Raf Simons is slated to be the new creative director at Dior.

Dior dismissed John Galliano as the head designer in March following his arrest at a Paris bar for racist and anti-Semitic behavior and has not revealed a replacement. Although Galliano’s catwalk shows and eveningwear have become iconic in its flair and flamboyance, industry sources state that Dior is looking to more towards a simplistic aesthetic. And Simons’ designs for Jill Sanders and his own menswear label are minimalistic.
