Spark Hosts 5th Annual Black and Pink Ball

On Friday, October 15, 2010, Spark hosted their annual Black and Pink Ball. This event marked the fifth year the Black and Pink Ball has taken place in San Francisco.

More than 800 guests attended the gala held in the spacious Mezzanine, located in Mint Plaza. Partygoers donned pink and black cocktail attire as they sipped on complimentary cocktails and enjoyed music spun by DJ Solomon and DJ Deevice. A silent auction took place which offered wonderful items for guests to bid on, with proceeds benefiting women’s programs. The crowd was also treated to a surprise performance by the Bay Area Bhangra Empire, a group that has had the honor of performing for President Obama.

Spark is an organization that seeks to build a community of young, global citizens who are invested in changing patterns of inequality that impact women throughout the world. All proceeds from the evening went to benefit grassroots women’s organizations both domestically and in Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Haiti. The party was not only a fabulous affair, but also raised money and awareness for a great cause.
