The Gehry Grid: Tiffany Uses Lou Ruvo Center Design for Inspiration
Architect Frank Gehry has a habit of taking his designs and turning them into works of art. This past weekend, the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health opened its doors to the public near downtown Las Vegas, and paired with the gridlike design of the building comes a collection of jewelry at Tiffany & Co. inspired by the structure.
The Gehry Grid line takes advantage of those overlapping rectangular grid designs in a collection of three pieces. The F.O.G. pendants and cuff were inspired by the hand-cut sheets of silver that Gehry cut to form the outline of his initials. The letters overlap to create a grid, while the thumbprint texture adds a touch of personality to the pieces.
In 2003, Gehry partnered with Tiffany & Co. to create an exclusive jewelry collection that launched in 2006. The Gehry Grid is the latest jewelry line resulting from this partnership. In the past, Gehry has designed pieces based on the Guggenheim in Bilboa, Spain, for the jewelry icon.
The FOG Cuff, pictured above, comes in sterling silver with a brush finish by Frank Gehry for Tiffany & Co. and retails for $550. The FOG Pendant in sterling silver with a brush finish on black rubber cord by Frank Gehry for Tiffany & Co., center, retails for $300. The FOG Pendant in sterling silver with a brush finish by Frank Gehry for Tiffany & Co., bottom, retails for $225.
All three pieces are available at all three Tiffany & Co. Locations in Las Vegas: Via Bellagio, 702.697.5400, Crystals at CityCenter, 702.545.9090, and the Forum Shops at Caesars, 702.644.3065.
