One of our favorite Urban Daddy editors is at it again, bringing us the breaking news about the latest haute spot to hit the Miami shores. So where is this divine destination that promises to put an end to our quest for an upscale downtown lounge? The actual address is 1100 Biscayne Blvd. The physical building is the 67-story Marquis Building, designed by Arquitectonica, which according to the website, was created as a “crystalline sculpture composed of three intersecting parallelograms sheathed entirely in glass.” The lounge itself has been named The Bar at Tempo Miami.
Stay with us here because with all this branding, we know it can get confusing. Tempo Miami is a RockResort hotel property that encompasses the third through the 14th floors of the downtown skyscraper. There are big plans for this property. The 56-room hotel will celebrate its grand opening in June, offering luxuries like 310-thread-count linens, freestanding soaking tubs with views of Biscayne Bay, 42-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, an 8,000-square-foot spa, and a restaurant to be called Amus. Not everything is set to go yet, but until then, the hotel is promising all room accommodations, complimentary continental breakfast, access to the 14th-floor sky pool deck, and the liquid temptations from the lounge, The Bar at Tempo Miami, located on the third floor.
The entrance to the hotel is located on NE 11th Street, and they are planning for the crowds, hoping to attract Adrienne Arsht Center and AAA pre- and post partiers.
