The Peninsula Wants Guests to Dine and Dash…Around Beverly Hills in a Vintage Car, That Is
No, the new thing to do isn’t actually to Dine and Dash, but to Drive and Dine. The Peninsula Beverly Hills is offering an unusual and highly desirable opportunity to guests of its legendary Sunday brunch at The Belvedere, thanks to its partnership with the Automobile Driving Museum.
Museum docents will moonlight as chauffeurs every Sunday through April 25, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and drive lucky guests around Beverly Hills in restored classic cars.
You don’t have to be a vintage car aficionado to appreciate how cool it would be to traverse the famous streets of Beverly Hills in a 1932 Studebaker Commander, or perhaps a 1961 Ford T-Bird. You can channel your inner James Dean, (although, ideally, without the crash) for only a $20-donation to the museum.
Keep in mind that this is in addition to the $59 per person ($69 with Champagne) for the three-course brunch at The Belvedere. What’s the perfect dessert to designer dishes such as smoked salmon with watercress, red onion, cumin roasted potatoes, and dill aioli; or PEI mussels with saffron aioli in a bouillabaisse broth? Why, a jaunt around Beverly Hills in an old-fashioned, envy-inducing classic car, of course.
