Lizarran to Open First New York Location
Lizarran, a Spanish chain specializing in Basque pintxo and tableside flamenco performances is scheduled to open its first New York City location in January 2010.
Mmm; tapas. Mini portions of mouth-watering treats with Latin flare. The Spanish “fast-casual” chain called Lizarran, currently has 200 restaurants in eight countries from China to California. Their specialty is Basque pintxos and guests enjoy tableside flamenco performances. So where will restaurant number 201 be? Well, New York City, of course!
According to reports, Lizzaran will be opening their first New York location in January 2010 in the former Cendrillon space located at 45 Mercer Street. There are four more reported locations in set to open after Mercer Street.
The Mercer Street location will have some competition right from the start as it is only a stone’s throw away from ñ, a small tapas bar not far from the French Culinary Institute. Olé!
