Boston isn’t exactly known for its late night scene. After all, the city shuts down at 2 a.m. At least that’s what you thought. Whether you are a night owl or are just simply looking for a late night bite after a night out on the town, we have rounded up five haute spots that cater to the after-hours crowd.

1 Dumpling Palace

Dumpling Palace
At Dumpling Palace, it's all about celebrating (you guessed it) the creative art of dumplings. From steamed shrimp to Taiwan style pan fried dumplings, the expansive menu at this Back Bay haute spot features some of the best Asian fare available nightly until 3 a.m. We recommend trying the mini juicy buns with pork, extra spicy braised beef brisket noodle soup with spinach, chicken leg hot pot, veggie fried rice and crispy crab rangoons while sipping on a coconut bubble tea.

2 Peach Farm

Peach Farm
If fresh seafood is your late night craving, Peach Farm will certainly deliver. Open until 3 a.m. nightly, this Chinatown haute spot features every kind of fish imaginable. When you see the seafood tank, you know it's going to be fresh. From deep fried flounder, steamed oysters in black bean sauce and sliced spicy dry fried salted boneless eel to sea conch, surf clams and Szechuan style shrimp, it's no wonder Peach Farm is a late night industry mecca.

3 La Motta's

La Motta's
Over in the SoWa Distrct, La Motta’s recently rolled out the late night red carpet thanks to Chef de Cuisine Justin Winter’s creative twists on after-hours snacks. Available Sunday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to last call, you can feast your late night snacking eyes on mortadella meatballs with pomodoro sauce and parmesan; and baskets of garlic parmesan potato chips. For heartier fare, try the Italian sausages served on a potato bun or the chicken parm grinder paired up with a nightcap like The Show Pony with apple brandy, whiskey, honey, ginger and citrus.

4 Franklin Cafe

Franklin Cafe
Franklin Cafe has been an industry standard in the South End for more than 20 years. Whether you are looking for a snack on salmon poke or need to satiate that late night craving for jerk chicken tacos, this favorite haute spot of folks in the restaurant industry serves food every night until 1:30 a.m. Sure, you can go classic with an order of steak frites, but why not indulge in something more adventurous like the Moroccan spiced Atlantic cod, sugar pumpkin ravioli or turkey meatloaf with fig gravy that will leave you dreaming of your next visit.

5 South Street Diner

South Street Diner
When it comes to late night dining, South Street Diner prefers to say "round the clock" dining. The only haute spot in Boston open 24 hours originally catered to local factory workers when it opened near South Station 70 years ago. Since then, it has attracted some of Boston's biggest names in politics, music and entertainment. The all-night dining destination features breakfast specialties like banana walnut pancakes, raisin cinnamon French toast and a four-topping omelet. All day dining favorites include crabmeat burgers, chicken kebobs and grilled boneless pork chops.
