For Dr. Manjula Jegasothy, beauty is where precision, artistry, and medical expertise intersect. With more than 25 years of daily clinical practice, a Harvard College degree, and Yale medical training, she is widely regarded as a leading authority in aesthetic dermatology. Her philosophy centers on enhancing natural features, preserving individuality, and creating results that age beautifully over time.
Born in Sri Lanka and raised in the United States, Dr. Jegasothy spent her childhood along the East Coast, shaped by her father’s career as a renowned academic dermatologist. Growing up immersed in medicine sparked an early fascination with skin and science. By her tween years, she was already experimenting with appearance-based dermatology, offering sleepover friends early versions of glycolic acid masks and acne treatments. Summers spent working in dermatology laboratories during her teenage and college years deepened her understanding of skin biology, a foundation that continues to guide her clinical judgment today.
Equally formative was the influence of her mother and grandmother, both highly skilled seamstresses. From them, she learned an appreciation for precision, patience, and craftsmanship. These early lessons became a natural extension of her medical training and are reflected in her meticulous, deliberate approach to injectable treatments.
After earning her M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Jegasothy completed her Internal Medicine internship at Yale–New Haven Hospital, followed by residency training at the University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital. While early family vacations to Boca Raton sparked her affection for South Florida, it was her first full winter in Miami that confirmed the city would become her permanent home.
Dr. Jegasothy’s injection style is gentle, precise, and intentionally restrained, refined over decades much like the disciplined practice of a concert pianist. She prioritizes subtle enhancement over transformation and championed natural-looking results long before they became an industry standard. Nationally recognized for her expertise, she serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Miami’s Frost Department of Dermatology and is frequently featured in publications including Forbes, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair, Teen Vogue, and Women’s Health. She has also contributed to medical journals, consulted with dermatology product manufacturers, and trained physicians nationwide in advanced aesthetic techniques.
Miami Skin Institute reflects Dr. Jegasothy’s philosophy at every level. The practice offers medical-grade skincare, neuromodulators such as Botox®, dermal fillers, biostimulatory treatments for skin and hair rejuvenation, and a full range of cosmetic laser technologies. Each treatment plan emphasizes customization, precision, safety, and long-term results. Patients travel from across South Florida, the Caribbean, Central and South America, and the United States, drawn by decades of focused experience and consistently refined outcomes.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Jegasothy remains deeply connected to Miami’s culture. A passionate foodie, she enjoys exploring the city’s diverse neighborhoods, restaurants, and the art and architecture of the Design District. An avid traveler, she draws inspiration from global perspectives on beauty and wellness and remains committed to community involvement through more than 25 years of participation in the Junior Leagues of Miami and Boca Raton.
Through decades of dedicated practice, Dr. Jegasothy has shaped Miami Skin Institute into a destination for patients seeking expertly executed aesthetic care grounded in medical science. Her guiding philosophy remains unchanged. The most successful cosmetic dermatology enhances what already exists, respects individuality, and delivers results that remain ageless for decades.
