HB: What is an Endoscopic Brow Lift?

It is a minimally invasive procedure that helps the lift of the brow.

HB: How do you perform an Endoscopic Brow Lift?

Small incisions are made behind the hairline and an endoscopic camera is used to visualize and free up the attachments that hold the brow down. Fixation devices are placed into the skull and the forehead is then pulled up and placed over these fixation devices. The forehead heals into its elevated position as the fixation devices dissolve. I like to use endotines for my fixation.

HB: Who is a good candidate for an Endoscopic Brow Lift?

Someone with brow descent/droop.

HB: How do you work with patients to achieve the desired outcome?

The brows are part of and play a role in the periocular area.  If the brows are low then that can cause the skin to hang down.  Sometimes taking out skin alone is enough but if there is significant droop of the brow then this needs to be addressed as well but there are different approaches.  I like to discuss the available options, downtime and expectations with the patient and that is how we develop a surgical plan.

HB: Are the results long-lasting or permanent?

The aging process, including brow descent, continues as we get older so this is something that could need to be repeated after a few years.

HB: What is the recovery process like?

I have patients wear a compressive head wrap for 24 hours. This can be removed the next day and patients can then take a shower and wash their hair. Staples are used to close the incisions and these are removed in one week.  I typically like for patients to take it easy for two weeks which means no heavy lifting, aerobic exercise or bending over.

HB: What is the average cost for an Endoscopic Brow Lift?

$4,500.
