Celebrate The Second Year Of National Love Your Hair Day With It’s A 10 Haircare

October 10 marks the second annual National Love Your Hair Day, established as a movement by It's a 10 Haircare to encourage all people to love their unique hair and celebrate diversity in beauty. 

With National Love Your Hair Day, It's a 10 Haircare is casting any negative feelings aside to encourage everyone to embrace the hair they were born with. Founder, CEO and owner Carolyn Aronson declared the name herself last year, after the brand. with an emphasis on learning about great products to help enhance natural beauty. This year the team is launching their biggest campaign to date: The Next 10 Contest: calling on you to design your dream hair product.

Carolyn will hand-pick ten finalists and ultimately choose one lucky winner with the most innovative concept to produce. Because Carolyn believes everyone should live with passion and purpose, the winner will also receive $10,000 and a lifetime supply of It’s a 10 Haircare.

In addition to the campaign, It's a 10 Haircare is hitting the streets of ten bustling cities (San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Miami, Washington D.C., Houston, Philadelphia, Dallas, and San Diego) to give out 100,000 of their famous Miracle Leave-Ins for free.

We caught up with Carolyn in anticipation of this great holiday.

1. What was the response from last year’s National Love Your Hair Day?

Last year’s event was embraced by all types of people from all walks of life with one thing in common: the celebration of hair. The holiday culminated on the streets of New York City as we handed out thousands of free samples in Times Square in front of the iconic NASDAQ billboard, which we took over for an entire week!

2. How has that helped shape this year’s celebration?

Last year’s celebration was so positive that it inspired me to make this a nationwide effort, activating in 10 different states and 30 different cities this year – spreading our message of inclusivity and loving the unique hair you have across the entire country. We will be handing out 100,000 free samples so please come out and join us!

3. What are you looking forward to most with The Next 10 Contest?

I cannot wait to receive everybody’s different ideas. I’m sure the various concepts brought to the table will be utterly inspiring!

4. What is your favorite new It’s a 10 Haircare product of the past year?

That’s a tough one! I have quite a few. My Blow Dry Collection houses some of my all-time favorite products so this is difficult, but I think I have to go with my new Miracle Blow Dry Texture Spray that is debuting later this year. It’s so unique to anything else on the market – an innovative alternative to traditional hair spray that produces natural-looking volume with an ultra-lightweight feel. Plus, it smells amazing!

5. What other exciting news is on the horizon for 2019?

It’s a 10 Haircare is going to be at one of the most famous social gatherings in the country and showing our presence in a very unique way. I’m going to keep this a big secret until it gets much closer to the event, but the only hint I can give is: Look up in the sky! It’s a bird…It’s a plane…no, It’s a 10!
