The Ritz and the Puck: the Star Team
We all know the Ritz-Carlton’s reputation for bringing its guests the best, which is why it is no surprise that the Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles has decided to tap celebrated chef Wolfgang Puck in the creation of its highly-anticipated restaurant, WP24. The new restaurant, set to open in mid-March, will be located on the 24th floor.

Good Morning, America (from Dove Mountain)
Joan Lunden, long-time former co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America and activist for women’s wellness, is hosting a weekend filled with adventure and empowerment for the ladies. Reveille on the Road at The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain will be taking place from April 15-18.
The special Reveille on the Road package includes all the luxury that the hotel has to offer for the bargain price $1,500 per person at double occupancy or $1,700 at single occupancy.

Your New Gilty Pleasure
With a name synonymous for your most precious metal, nothing but decadence comes to mind. Gilt, opening in the former Aigre Doux space on Kinzie has no relation to the Gilt of NYC, but is making a name for itself in its own right. Despite its 24-karart moniker, Gilt is more rustic than showy. Clad with vintage revolving doors, salvaged tables with mismatched chairs, and seating from a reclaimed dollhouse, Gilt is well, refreshingly unpretentious despite the large press its been getting.

Chef Rick Moonen Scores a Culinary Trifecta
Chef Rick Moonen isn’t quite like all the other culinary gurus in Las Vegas. He had restaurants in New York City before he moved to Sin City full time in 2005, and in the past week, his RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay has become the talk of the town.
The two-level restaurant just revealed RM Seafood Upstairs, a new fine dining element that explores playful and interactive dishes and supports Moonen’s commitment to sustainable foods.

Metropolitan Opera Receives $30 Million Gift
Sometimes when you need it most, fate steps in and helps you out. In this case, fate came in the form of philanthropist Ann Ziff, who recently gave an astounding $30 million to the Metropolitan Opera. It’s always vogue to support art and music, and Ms. Ziff has certainly done that. Her timely donation is the largest single gift from an individual in the Met’s history, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the opera house, which is projecting a deficit of up to $4 million for the current fiscal year.

I have recently had the pleasure of working with painter Vincent Giarrano on his new one-man show, centered around women in NYC. His subjects consist of ladies from various walks of life and my role was to help him capture scenes of a woman with a luxurious lifestyle.
We spent time at several locations on Manhattan’s fashionable Upper East Side including The Plaza Hotel, inside the Oak Room, Pucci, Erwin Pearl, The Carlyle Hotel and its Tea Room, and various Madison Avenue storefronts.
