Dori’s World: Fasting and Feasting All in One Weekend

This weekend was filled with fasting, eating and some playing. Friday night was a great holiday dinner at Nancy and Jeff Lance’s house before the fast. Saturday was Yom Kippur, so it was very mellow, fasting and relaxing with my newly engaged friend Dylan Lauren. Then the big breakfast at Lizzie and Jon Tisch’s house. They had both family and friends there. One of their friends runs 50 marathons a year!

But once “Pretty Vegas” from INXS fades from the speakers and the chefs on stage have stopped their last-minute preparations, Puck walks out on stage for the members of the Grazie loyalty program at the Palazzo and Venetian. It’s a live cooking demonstration by the chef himself, where he spent more than an hour cooking three dishes and charming the audience.

For the Launch of “Zampolli's World” on hauteliving.com, Paolo Zampolli and his wife, Amanda Ungaro, hosted a dinner party at their residence at 50 Gramercy Park N. with Mamma Luisa cooking in Chanel couture. The party was reminiscent of the “Gatsby-days,” with an excellent mix of world business leaders, supermodels, telecom magnates, steel barons and billionaires. The theme of the party was "Forbes List, HNI (High Net-worth Individual), Models and No Pedestrians!"
