There’s something about the city of New York; whether it be the fearless fashion or the flat-out fleeting pace that entices those that live outside of the big city. I for one love the fact that in NYC there is always an event taking place or a new restaurant to try.

As New York Fashion Week 2011 came to a close, I had the special opportunity to chat with one of the fashion industry’s most iconic individuals, Pharrell Williams. Although he is probably best known for his work in the music industry, Pharrell has crossed over to other creative areas including fashion, contemporary art, and interior design.

The Herve Leger Spring/Summer 2012 collection was about metallic; as well as cut outs, knee high gladiator sandals, and geometric patterns. With an assortment composed mostly of neutral colors, other features included fringed hems and harness-inspired details.

Aside from designer shows debuting at Lincoln Center, New York City hotels and venues are packed with events, such as The Daily Style Sessions at the Stone Rose Lounge. Here, celebrities and a select group of fashion-crazed guests enjoyed an afternoon in style.

Every year delightfully kooky fashion designer Betsey Johnson never ceases to surprise and entertain her audience during New York Fashion Week. From start to finish, the show was meant to excite.

The Rachel Zoe Spring/Summer 2011 presentation was a celebration of the next step in the famed stylist’s life, as she makes the transition from stylist to designer. Zoe successfully created a collection that was wearable and whimsical.

The red carpet’s favorite designer, Pamella Roland, presented her Spring/Summer 2012 collection this afternoon to a room filled with fans and friends such as noted photographer Nigel Barker and Howard Stern’s better half, Beth Stern. Known for dressing some of Hollywood’s elite artists, including Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry, Roland kept true to her design aesthetic that is always the perfect balance between glamour and sophistication.

Vivienne Tam’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection was inspired by the serene Zen gardens in Asia, in addition to the glamour of the 1970s. Shades of orange, denim patterns, and quirky knits are some of the trends that made their way down the runway at Charlotte Ronson, with sisters Samantha and Annabelle participating in the show.

Phillips de Pury and Company is an art gallery in New York City that auctions contemporary art in forms of design, photographs and jewelry. In collaboration with Giorgio Armani, the gallery hosted a reception last night that brought together artists in every form.
