New York Fashion Week 2011: Rachel Zoe Presentation
The Rachel Zoe Spring/Summer 2012 presentation was a celebration of the next step in the famed stylist’s life, as she makes the transition from stylist to designer. Zoe successfully created a collection that was wearable and whimsical. With the use of fabrics such as mousseline, leather and lame, the assortment of separates and gowns seems to have been created with a very specific woman in mind. In keeping with Zoe’s signature style, the collection was the intersection where bohemian ease meets uptown sophistication. A perfect balance, the harmony between the elements was clear and undoubtedly characteristic of Rachel Zoe’s exquisite taste.
Nude accessories, including pale patent leather handbags and chunky sandals, complimented Zoe’s modern approach. Composed mostly of solids, the few printed pieces within the collection were in neutral shades of beige and olive. Each piece had an element of sensuality, whether through sheer fabrics or deep v-necks, and added to the young and playful nature of the collection. With a collection composed entirely of must-have pieces, the Rachel Zoe Spring/Summer 2012 collection is sure to catapult the stylist into the spotlight as the next best American designer.
