New York Fashion Week 2011: Pamella Roland Presentation

The red carpet’s favorite designer, Pamella Roland, presented her Spring/Summer 2012 collection this afternoon to a room of fans and friends such as noted photographer Nigel Barker and Howard Stern’s better half, Beth Stern. Known for dressing those in Hollywood’s elite circle, including Angelina Jolie and Halle Berry, Roland kept true to her design aesthetic that is always the perfect balance between glamour and sophistication. The beauty is in the detail for  Pamella Roland, as her gowns in particular are adorned with intricate embellishments and consistently classic in silhouette.

This season, Roland turned to neutral colors in hues of powder blue, pink and ivory. These colors combined with fabrics such as perforated leather and silk created a tension that translated into elegant and timeless evening wear. In addition to gowns, for which she is most recognized for, the collection included separates that transition from day to night. Although primarily focused on solid colors, additional pieces were made of an exclusively developed brushstroke print. An artist enthusiast, Roland drew inspiration for her print from Expressionist painters such as Robert Motherwell and Helen Frankenthaler.
