Impeccable finishes, walls exhibiting pieces by local artists and Ready-to-Wear that injects contemporary edge into a classic fashion brand is just some of what you’ll find at Louis Vuitton’s brand-new, five story boutique in the heart of Miami’s Design District. Refurbished vintage furniture, display cases and drawers with gold inlay and historic photography captured by NASA in the 1960s are more of the details we found particularly notable when we previewed the new digs last week.

On Wednesday, South Miami boutique Capretto played host to an intimate brunch alongside fashion muse and international “it girl,” Erica Pelosini, inviting guests to preview Jimmy Choo’s Pre-Fall 2015 collection. The event was hosted at Matador Room’s outdoor terrace at the much-lauded Miami Beach Edition. Local tastemakers like Jenine Howard, Maria Tettamanti, Alina De la Vega MacLean, Erin Newberg, Ashley Turchin and Elaine Spotswood stepped out well-heeled to meet Pelosini and talk all things Choo. Capretto buyers Jason Salstein and Lidia Pefaur were also on-hand to lend expert advice on this season’s must-haves. After brunch, the day continued during an in-store event where buyers rushed to be the first to shop the new collection.

A pair of talented designers meet at London’s Chelsea College of Art and Design and soon thereafter, the duo embark on a business venture destined for greatness. Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman introduced their point of view as designers with Marchesa, an extravagant eveningwear brand named after fabulous Italian socialite, Marchesa Luisa Casati.

First launched by Ruth Dayan in 1954, MASKIT is one of Israel’s oldest couture houses. Today, the brand has been revived by Dayan with the creative addition of Tal, who celebrates the brand’s rich heritage while injecting her fresh aesthetic. Just last night, Tal traveled to Boca Raton, Florida to debut the MASKIT collection to members and supporters of the Jewish Women’s Federation, an organization whose mission to expand and improve opportunities and choices in all aspects of Jewish women’s and children’s lives hit close to home for both Dayan and Tal. Through effective and strategic grant making, the Foundation enables and encourages its members to be advocates, leaders and agents of change.
