Rebecca moved to the United Arab Emirates from Paris to work for an art gallery at the Emirates Palace hotel. Her dream was to take part in the tremendous development of the arts in the United Arab Emirates as well as explore the burgeoning world of fashion and luxury goods in the region. In Dubai Rebecca specializes in the Arab art scene as well as regularly attends the region's foremost fashion and luxury events. She also has a knack for discovering the finest dining experience's Dubai and Abu Dhabi have to offer. In her spare time, Rebecca attends Yoga and dance classes in Dubai Marina and enjoys curling up with her favorite book and a scented Diptyque candle.

The UAE sister of legendary beach club, Blue Marlin Ibiza, has opened for its second season. Bringing a bit of Ibiza to the UAE, the members-only beach club enjoyed a successful first season attracting a cosmopolitan crowd and celebrity DJs like Axwell, before closing for the summer. The eagerly anticipated second season kicked off on a similar note with a two day celebration of live acts, light shows and the incredible music that has become a signature feature.

Born in Chicago but originally from Syria, Tala is a fashion consultant, editor and stylist and has worked for such names as Net-a-porter.com, ASOS.com and Galaxy chocolate. Her style blog, myfashdiary.com has been nominated in Ahlan! Magazine’s Best in Dubai awards, as well as the Marie Claire UK Blog and Twitter awards. Tala has worked with fashion designers such as Tom Ford and Halston and has also been featured in publications including The Guardian, Grazia UK and Grazia Middle East, Harpers Bazaar Arabia and Marie Claire Middle East. She was also listed as one of Dubai’s Hot 100 for 2011. Tala currently lives between London and Dubai.

While its unlikely that we equate Armani with Curry, Armani/Amal, the hotel’s Indian restaurant pulls it off nicely and brings a touch of the Far East the hotel’s subdued yet elegant ambiance. The evening commenced as soon as my guest and I entered the lobby where we are immediately served a welcome cocktail – a pungent and refreshing watermelon juice made with black salt. Escorted to our table overlooking the Dubai Fountain and the sparkling lights from the Dubai Mall and the Address Hotel outside, we were content and at ease.

Cartier Celebrates the Launch of the New Tank Anglaise Watch

Last week Cartier hosted a special cocktail party and exhibition at The Pavilion in Downtown Dubai to celebrate the launch of the New Tank Anglaise watch as well as commemorate Never Stop Tank Legend, an exhibition presenting 14 windows depicting the popular Tank Saga legends including the 1917 Normal Tank, the 1922 Louis Cartier Tank, the 1989 Tank Américaine and the 1996 Tank Française. The New Tank Anglaise was unveiled in true Cartier style alongside the 2012 novelties of Tank Folle and the Tank Louis Cartier XL Extra Flat.
