Rebecca moved to the United Arab Emirates from Paris to work for an art gallery at the Emirates Palace hotel. Her dream was to take part in the tremendous development of the arts in the United Arab Emirates as well as explore the burgeoning world of fashion and luxury goods in the region. In Dubai Rebecca specializes in the Arab art scene as well as regularly attends the region's foremost fashion and luxury events. She also has a knack for discovering the finest dining experience's Dubai and Abu Dhabi have to offer. In her spare time, Rebecca attends Yoga and dance classes in Dubai Marina and enjoys curling up with her favorite book and a scented Diptyque candle.

Haute Fashion: Blake Lively Wears Christian Louboutin at Chanel Private Dinner

Chanel has a new Maidemoiselle. Actress Blake Lively is the new face for the French House’s latest range of Maidemoiselle handbags. Last week during Paris Fashion Week 2011/2012 the Gossip Girl was celebrated at a private dinner hosted by the House of Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld. The evening took place at the Chanel couture salons which were recreated into a glamorous bistro. Blake wore the Salbourg Shoe from Christian Louboutin Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

Edge of Arabia’s “Terminal”: Groundbreaking Traveling Exhibit of Saudi Art Arrives in Dubai

Saudi art comes to the masses with a special traveling exhibition which reveals Saudi Arabia’s little known contemporary art scene. Edge of Arabia has been making its stop at many of the world’s capitals and now finally arrives in Dubai in partnership with Art Dubai and under the global tour sponsorship of ALJ Community Initiatives. The exhibition, “Terminal” will take place in a pop-up gallery in DIFC’s gate village and will be curated by Cuadro Gallery’s Bashar Al-Shroogi.

Samia Halaby “Trees and High Rising City” at Ayyam Gallery, DIFC

Opening tonight at Ayyam Gallery in DIFC is “Trees and High Rising City”, a solo show by Palestinian artist Samia Halaby. The exhibit coincides with the opening of Art Dubai and features several new works by the artist. Halaby’s canvases probe the world around her through colorful architectonic forms and textures. In these works the artist captures the energy of bodies and masses in motion and the relationships between them as they intersect and unfold before the spectator.

Andre Butzer at Carbon 12 Gallery

Opening soon at Carbon 12 Gallery is an exhibition featuring the work of German artist Andre Butzer. The artist’s first solo show in the Middle East, Butzer is the founder of the legendary art academy “Isotrop” and co-editor of a magazine with the same name. His bright colorful works appear to constantly shift between abstraction and figuration and are created through the use of strong expressive brushstrokes.
