Anyone who has met me knows of my infinite love for both Irish pubs and open bars. So needless to say when Fado’s Irish Pub and Restaurant welcomed over 400 of Miami’s VIPs to an exclusive cocktail party on Feb. 1 to celebrate the pub’s grand opening I graciously volunteered to endure a Tuesday evening filled with Irish pub far, traditional Irish performances and of course last but not least a premium whiskey tasting bar (all in the name of journalism of course!)

On Tuesday, Feb. 1, San Francisco Performances and Gordon and Ann Getty hosted the San Francisco Performances Annual Presenters Dinner. The dinner, held intimately at the Getty residence, honored cellist Alisa Weilerstein. The evening included performances by the acclaimed musician that featured Osvaldo Golijov’s Omaramor and a selection from Bach’s Cello Suites.

New York Fashion Week began the extravagance a few days early on the night of Feb. 8, with jewelry and lifestyle brand, DANNIJO. The event started off the celebrated week of style with the revealing of their Fall 2011 Collection. Inspired by the timeless beauty of the Roaring 20s and the rustic sensuality of life in the Wild West, DANNIJO designers, Danielle and Jodie Snyder, created a glamorous collection of audacious silhouettes infused with the shimmering adornments of fine jewelry and elemental pieces provided by Swarovski Crystal.

While many were awaiting for the Super Bowl to arrive, many started their pre-bowl events all over the country. In Dallas, Texas, home of the much waited Super Bowl XLV, the Players’ Wives Association hosted their 10th Annual Off The Field Fashion Show.

Well, it seems chocolate’s monopoly of love is finally being contested by none other than Mark Israel, founder of the Lower East Side hotspot Doughnut Plant, as he will open a brand new location in the Chelsea Hotel on Valentine’s Day.

Virgin America, the California-based airline, has announced it will include non-stop flights to Cancun in their flight itinerary and have VH1 be a part of it. The flight to Cancun is the first flight the three-year-old award winning airline is doing there. It flies directly to Cancun International Airport from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or San Francisco International Airport (SFO). This trip marks as the third internaltional flight and the 14th destination in North America.

On Feb. 3, Luminaire, the Gables’ very own company of modern furnishings, had the pleasure of welcoming innovative and captivating style from Milan with the arrival of world-renowned Spanish interior designer, Patricia Urquiola. To correspond with the 37th anniversary of its extensive partnership with modern, Italian furnishing company, B&B Italia, Luminaire celebrated Urquiola’s influx with an intimately private luncheon amongst Miami’s most exclusive journalists and close friends, followed by an “open-to-the-public” evening lecture, at the Coral Gables Museum.
