The School of Fashion at Academy of Art University in San Francisco welcomed an exclusive group of guests to partake in their 2010 Graduation Fashion Show and Awards Ceremony where graduating students in various design areas of study debuted their collections.

On May 13 celebrities such as Russell Simmons, Angela Simmons, Estelle, Swizz Beatz, and others arrived at the 2010 SESAC Music Awards Gala held at the IAC Building in New York City. Numerous artists won awards in different categories including Nate “Danja” Hills who took home Songwriter of the Year as well as Song of the Year for his chart topping smash “Knock You Down,” which he wrote for Keri Hilson. Other honorees included Swizz Beatz, who accepted the Inspiration Award from music icon Russell Simmons.

Velvet ropes and lit candles bordered the far-reaching red carpet as it extended far onto the sidewalk, while leading an exclusive list of guests into the marble laden entrance of the Audemars Piguet flagship boutique in New York in honor of its opening. The world renowned watchmaker also celebrated its “Time To Give” campaign, a charitable auction held at the Four Seasons Hotel in which attendees bid on luxurious timepieces autographed by various celebrities including Jay-Z, Meryl Streep, Hugh Jackman, Whoopi Goldberg, and Kelsey Grammer.

DreamWorks Animation’s “Shrek Forever After” premiered at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on May 16, where the film’s celebrity voices were in attendance with their families including Antonio Banderas, Eddie Murphy, and Mike Myers. Cameron Diaz was seen on the red carpet as well wearing an Oscar De La Renta dress with Brian Atwood shoes as she posed for pictures alongside co-star Mike Myers. The animated movie itself will hit theaters on May 21st.

On May 15, Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini along with Vanity Fair Editor Graydon Carter co-hosted the Vanity Fair/Gucci party in Cannes. The evening featured an exclusive dinner at the Hotel du Cap followed by a party celebrating Martin Scorsese and the 20-year anniversary of The Film Foundation.

The French comedy “Tournee” or translated into “On Tour,” debuted at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and competed for the Palme d’Or. Mathieu Amalric directed and starred in the film about an American Neo-Burlesque troupe touring through various French port cities.

Celebrities such as Naomi Campbell, Shia Labeouf, and Michael Douglas arrived at the 63rd annual Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, a sequel to the Academy Award-winning film Wall Street. Michael Douglas reprises his role in the movie and this film marks the first time renowned director Oliver Stone has ever done a sequel. Just like Robin Hood on opening day, this film was shown out of competition.

The 63rd Annual Cannes Film Festival debuted the newly restored version of Luchino Visconti’s Il Gattopardo, with support from Gucci; the film has undergone an extensive 4K digital restoration at Sony’s Colorworks Digital Facility. Originally premiering at the festival in 1963, the film then garnered critical acclaim and received the Palme d’Or, the festival’s highest honor.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society welcomed guests to The Fairmont San Francisco for a chic and charitable reception held in the hotel’s newly renovated Penthouse. Event co-chairs were Thomas Klein and Dame Bella Farrow, while the Host Committee included Mark Calvano, Michelle Curtis, Joel Goodrich, Kelly Grimes, Hooman Khalili, Veronica La Beau, Bahya Oumlil-Murad, and Kate Smith.
